FAQ
Can anyone sign up?
Tutors and organisations can sign up and choose a plan on the pricing page. Students and children don't sign up themselves, a tutor or organisation invites them, which keeps every class private.
Do students need to install anything?
No. tradroom runs in the browser and can be added to a phone's home screen like an app. It works on any up-to-date browser, Safari, Chrome, Edge or Firefox, on a phone, tablet or computer.
I didn't get my invitation email, what now?
Check your spam/junk folder and search your inbox for tradroom. Invitations expire (48 hours for a student, 7 days for a tutor), so if yours has, ask the person who invited you to send a new one.
I've forgotten my password.
On the login page choose Forgot password and follow the emailed link to set a new one. If you were added in bulk and never had a password, choose Activate your account instead.
What is a passkey?
A passkey lets you sign in with your device's own unlock, fingerprint, face or PIN, instead of a password. It's quicker and more secure. Add one under Admin → Passkeys; your password still works too.
What file types can I upload?
Notation and documents (PDF, doc, images) and audio (mp3, m4a, wav, aac). Each resource can bundle several files.
Can a tutor belong to more than one organisation?
Staff roles are per-organisation, so the same person can hold roles in more than one.
Does a parent need a separate account from their child?
Yes. A guardian has their own login and sees only their own children, their classes, attendance, resources, calendar and news. One guardian can cover several siblings.
How is children's data protected?
Student data is isolated and access-controlled by role, every access is logged, the platform operator never sees individual student data, and no student data appears on public pages.
Can we get our data out?
Yes, Independent Tutors and Organisations can export student, tutor and class information and attendance as CSV, and you can request access, correction, export or erasure of personal data (see the Privacy Policy).
Can I use tradroom to collect fees from my students?
No, and it isn't something we plan to offer. tradroom is a teaching platform, notation, recordings, classes, attendance and keeping parents in the loop, and it deliberately stays out of the money side. If tradroom collected class fees on your behalf it would sit in the middle of those payments, which carries added tax and VAT responsibilities and would complicate the accounting for everyone involved. Keeping fees with you is cleaner and simpler: you carry on collecting from your students exactly as you do now, those arrangements stay entirely between you and them, and the only payment tradroom handles is your own subscription.
How do I get help?
Signed in, students can message their tutor and staff can message an administrator from Admin → Help & support. Otherwise email hello@tradroom.ie.
