Documentation

Everything you need to teach and learn on tradroom. New here? Start with Getting started: it walks you through joining, signing in and finding your way around, one step at a time.

No account yet?: tradroom is invite-only. You can't sign up on your own. A tutor or organisation invites you by email, and the link in that email sets up your account. If you're an organisation or tutor wanting to use tradroom, get in touch.

Pick the guide for you

  • Getting started: joining, activating your account, signing in, and adding tradroom to your phone. Read this first.
  • For independent tutors: running your own students, classes, resources, attendance, calendar and news.
  • For organisations: admins and tutors, terms and timetables, branding, bulk import and reporting.
  • Students & guardians: what a student sees, opening and playing resources, and how the parent/guardian portal and consent work.
  • Account & security: passwords, passkeys, changing your email, your data, and signing out safely.
  • Troubleshooting: didn't get the invite email, can't sign in, a file won't play, and how to get help.
  • FAQ: quick answers to common questions.

How tradroom is organised

There are a few kinds of account, and each one manages everything below it:

  • Organisation admin. Runs a branch or school: its tutors, students, timetable and branding.
  • Tutor: teaches classes and shares resources. A tutor can belong to an organisation, or be independent (running their own students).
  • Student: sees the notation, recordings, classes and news shared with them.
  • Parent/guardian: a separate portal for the adult responsible for an under-18 student.

One email can hold several of these at once, a parent who also takes classes, a student at two schools, and a Switch view control lets you move between them.

Student personal data is only ever shown to the people entitled to see it, and the platform operator never sees individual student records. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail.

What you need

tradroom runs in a web browser. There's nothing to install. It works on a phone, tablet, laptop or desktop, in any up-to-date browser (Safari, Chrome, Edge or Firefox). On a phone or tablet you can add it to your home screen so it opens like an app; see Getting started.
